We all carry masculine and feminine energy.

It doesn’t matter how masculine a man might be, he has a feminine side, an inner queen. And it doesn’t matter how feminine a woman might be, she as well has an inner king being part of her as a whole.

In the previous article, I talked about how we are always taught to seek for union through the external. We are taught to need a relationship, another person to make one whole existence. I’m quite sure you figured that I don’t agree with that at all.

You’re whole already.

It might need some work to get familiar with your inner masculine and feminine, explore how they feel, what they can do to serve you best, and connect them into one. There is one beautiful exercise I practice on a regular basis, and it’s so ridiculously simple that I am sure you’ll get into it in no time.

There are a million different ways to connect to your inner masculine and feminine energies. As a fundamental to that, it is key to know when you find yourself in either your healthy or unhealthy expression of the masculine or feminine. As this dives deep into the fundamentals of tantric polarities, I’ll invite you to stay tuned and wait for the next article to learn about this in detail. I am so passionate about that topic, I could literally write a book about it!

For now, I just want to give you a brief overview of the topic to make it easier for you to understand why we are doing this work and what the dominant ways of expressing your inner polarities are. We all shift between inner masculine and feminine all the time, depending on what’s being asked of us and whom we are interacting with. On top of that, there are healthy and unhealthy ways of feminine and masculine expression. So we are basically looking at 4 ways of expression.

Expressions of masculine and feminine

Healthy masculine: focused, grounded, present, patient, confident, secure

Unhealthy masculine: controlling, lazy, dominating, avoidant, no purpose, non-committing, greedy

Healthy feminine: expressive, creative, playful, vulnerable, generous, nurturing

Unhealthy feminine: manipulative, anxious, obsessive, passive-aggressive, clingy, submissive

A little side note: Maybe you can already see yourself in one of these traits. If you see yourself acting from the unhealthy feminine, you center balance that with the healthy masculine and the other way around. More (much more!) info about how to work with those energies is coming your way soon 🙂

How to connect and explore the inner polarities

It’s obvious that we rather want to find ourselves in the healthy expression of those energies. In order to do that, you simply up a conversation and just check out how they vibe. Sounds weird? In your mind, you have conversations with yourself all day long. This is no different, it just comes with a certain degree of awareness. This is how it works:

  1. Sit or lie down (make sure not to fall asleep) in a comfortable position
  2. Settle into your breath, feel how it fills the bottom, the mid and the top of your lungs
  3. Breathe deeply and be fully present with your breath for a few cycles
  4. Use your imagination and bring yourself to a place of your preference, imagining your inner feminine standing there
  5. Picture her in detail – how does she look, how’s her posture, what is the expression on her face
  6. Let your inner masculine enter the scenario – how does he walk, act, look and behave?
  7. Put them both in front of each other, just looking into their eyes: How do they feel about each other? What emotions come up? Is there anything they want to say to each other?
  8. What does she need from him, what does he need from her?
  9. Let the conversation unfold

You might notice that the conversation is very likely similar to those you have with your partner. Helping your inner polarities to figure out the issue first and then carry it into your relationship to be resolved there is pure magic for any connection.

Happy healing <3
