Do you know that there is nothing more empowering than celebrating other people’s success? Celebrating any achievement of anybody puts community over competition and creates a space of loving support, trust and security within a group of people. And what is it we need more than support, love and compassion in a world driven by the constant need to be better, faster and more successful than others?

Envy and resentment puts you in a space of comparison, an position inferior to the person who achieved something you wish you’ve achieved yourself.

You start comparing your own individual journey to another persons’ path, your own existence to another, your own power to another. This makes you work harder based on a state of mind that someone else might be better than you. Your subconscious feeds the belief that you are not good enough, not fast enough, not successful enough and as long as you’re stuck there, you will create that reality.

Clap when someone pitches for a high paid job and gets it. Smile when someone else jumps onto a wave. Celebrate when another relationship is going great. Communicate that you’re proud of someone, show them that you appreciate them and what they are doing. You know how nice that feels? Give in order to receive.

Genuine happiness for another person puts you into a space of motivation, drive of creation run by an underlying positive frequency calling in the opportunities you need to achieve a goal at your own pace. It makes you flow.

This world is run by competition. What would happen if we’d stop competing and start supporting?

There are enough clients, waves enough Asanas to perform and success stories to celebrate. How would the world look like if genuine happiness for others overpowered competition?

How do you benefit from community over competition?

  • Giving out support and help to others not only nurtures connections, but builds up a network that supports and helps you when you’re in need.
  • Integrity is a highly underrated skill. You showing love and compassion allows people to see the soft skills and character traits behind whatever you identify with. Especially in business, this is a great skill to maybe turn so-called competitors into future collaborators or even clients. You never know who might need you when.
  • Support opens you up to others and their way of doing things. Coming from a point of comparison, you might overlook the true opportunities of a connection. Feeling inferior to someone keeps you from meeting them on one level, keeps you from organic learning.
